Write Me, I’m Yours

Posted By Kelly Diels On 21 February, 2012 @ 5:07 pm In | 8 Comments

[1]Write Me, I’m Yours. That’s your message-of-the-day from The Universe, your big dream, your business, your life.

And your website.

(And it’s what I want to show you how to do: Write your whole website. In one day.)

Write Me, I’m Yours. That’s what I hear your website whispering to you. (I’m all psychic like that.)

And I’ve got another prediction, too.

If you already have a website, I can tell you the most popular, well-trafficked page on your website.

Or, if you’re still working on your website, I can tell you which of your still-imaginary-but-forthcoming pages will be most popular.

(And…for all the effort you put into your ravishing, ever-renewing stream of blog posts, it’s probably not a blog post. Alas.)

Nope, it’s not a blog post. It’s a fixed page. It’s the page almost every one of your readers will actually read.

The most-read and therefore most important page of your website is your bio.

(Also known as your “About” page or “About+Contact” page.)

If you’ve already got a site, go ahead and check your analytics. Your About page will rank HIGH.

It’s the page EVERYONE reads.  It’s the first page a new visitor to your blog will check out and it’s the last page a buyer examines before clicking the “buy me” button.

So it’s the one you’ve got to get right.

You’ve got to write a wildly effective bio AND then you’ve got write all the other pages of your website.

No pressure.

But that’s a lot of pressure, right? And pressure isn’t helping you write your way there.

To excellence, achievement, meaning, money, fame, fortune, groupies.

Or maybe that’s just my wishlist.

Do As I Say, Not As I Did

(Or: Let Me Help You Condense Seven Months of Stewing into One Month and One Day of ACTION)

When I first launched my blog, I was nearly incapacitated – blocked, blocked, blocked – by the pressure to get the fixed pages (not the blog posts) right.

So I dilly-dallied and didn’t do much of anything about them for seven months. And then I wrote the whole thing in a day. FINALLY.

But darlin’ you’re not waiting seven months to write your website. You can do it in a day. And it will be really, really, really good. Like, professional-copywriter-quality good.

Promise.

I’ll show you how.

This is what we’ll do:

1. Every other day for one month, you’ll receive 14 writing exercises by e-mail.

2. You’ll do the exercise. It will take you anywhere from five minutes to half an hour to complete the exercise.

[And...you'll like the exercises. They're (seemingly) self-indulgent and fun. You know those facebook "25 Things About Me" lists that are so seductive? It's that kind of all-about-me-easy  fun. Yum.]

[All of these exercises amount to me going all Mr. Miyagi on your ass. With each completed task, you'll wax on, wax off...and thereby build the skills necessary to triumph in your awesome undertaking aka writing your entire website.]

4. And then, at the end of the month and after completing a minimum of fourteen exercises, you’ll meet with the rest of the Karate-kid gang (all the other Write Me, I’m Yours students + moi + a few special guests) to workshop the results of all those exercises into…

…ALL THE COPY FOR YOUR ENTIRE WEBSITE.

(Capitalization trulymadlydeeply warranted.)

Yep, at the end of this one-day workshop, you’ll have completed your

  • About Page/Bio.
  • Services/Sales Page.
  • Subscribe Page.
  • A mini-bio for your social media outposts (Twitter, Facebook, media mentions, guest post blurbs).

And, if you do the bonus exercises, you could also end up creating your

  • Manifesta.
  • Landing Page.

Let’s say it again: YOU WILL CREATE ALL THE COPY FOR YOUR ENTIRE WEBSITE in one day.

And it will be good. Really good. Professional-copywriting-quality good. As I might have mentioned before.

Because I’m going to make you do all the exercises I make my copywriting clients – the ones who pay me to create their copy – do. You’ll do those exercises and along the way create copy to work with.

And then we’ll work with it in a one-day workshop wherein I’ll show you how to piece together that copy you’ve crafted (as a result of the 14 exercises you’ve completed) into 3-5 compelling and wildly effective fixed website pages.

So if you don’t yet have your dream site, or haven’t yet finished it, or haven’t finished it the way you want to finish it…let’s get you to finish it. You need to finish it. You need to write it. Well.

Can you see it? Do you hear it? That’s your website whispering again. Write Me, I’m Yours.

And Write Me, I’m Yours is the name of this course. What a coincidence!

Of course it’s not a coincidence. It’s what your website wants, it’s what you need and it’s what I want you to have. That’s why I created these exercises and this course…so you could finally write your website.

Write Me, I’m Yours: How to Write Your One Wild and Precious Website…In a Day consists of

  • one month of quick ‘n delicious writing exercises

(they vary from one-topic writing prompts to guided reflections to fill-in-the-blanks statements to drafting dating-ish profiles for your website, all of which might sound simple and frivolous but results in seriously excellent prose, promise.)

followed by a

  • one-day intensive in which we’ll workshop the prose results of your completed writing exercises into the pages for your entire website.

You’ll receive and complete a minimum of fourteen exercises – I’ll send you more, but fourteen of them are absolutely essential and therefore MANDATORY (that was my inner dominatrix coming out to play, isn’t she cute?)  - and attend a one-day online workshop to transform your exercise results into 3-5 website pages (bio, subscribe, sales/services + landing page and manifesto).

And  you’ll build skills and save money. Lots of both.

Because if you hired a professional copywriter to write your website, you’d pay $1,000 – $1,500  -

for example, I charge $450 for a bio and $350 for every other page

- and you wouldn’t be any closer to being a better writer or be able to sustain that level of professional copy without spending more moolah.

So this course will help you DIY your prose without having DIY results…and be able to sustain your copy quality, too. Because by doing these exercises and workshopping the results, you’ll improve your writing skills.

Oh and yes, you’ll get your whole website written and finished in one day.

(Give or take a month of exceptionally directed, intentional writing exercises and prompts).

All for only $150. Add to Cart [2]
