It, along with Kate Harding’s website Shapely Prose, changed my life. Seriously.
Hand to god, I stopped hating myself because of the work of anti-diet scientists and fat activists and people working in the field of body positivity — and because of this book in particular.
PS If you read this book, please also read the follow-up to it, Body Respect, which grounds the analysis even further in a more systemic perspective. Essential reading.
