Oh, Kelly! I’m still learning from you … even weeks after your course!

I really love this reminder of the importance and necessity of editing.

The act of writing can be a breathless rush of ideas, words or themes that flow from the mind to the fingers to the keys (or pen) to paper. When the muse speaks and the magic works, it’s bliss.

Editing is the sculpting and polishing that’s required to make the words sparkle, shine and sing. Editing is work. And for many, it’s no fun.

I think this is much like the difference between living and *living fully*. I can let an experience pass by or I can fully invest my energy and go back and “try again” (much like a rewrite or a wonderful editing job), pouring my heart and soul into creating a great piece:)
