@Lianne, I usually love Dean Koontz, I miss new books from Tom Robbins and Clive Barker and Anne Rice.

The last book I enjoyed was the Red Tent by Anita Diamant. If my friend who loaned it to me had given me more of a description of the book, I would not have been interested, but the writing felt good to me, and the story was well told.

I think I'd like to get a couple of non-fiction books this time, but immersing myself in a good story really stirs me into wanting to tell my own....something that Ms. Diels is encouraging in a big way.

Please suggest, but remember, I only have budget for about 3 more... :-)

PicsieChick – I’m kind of a book whisperer – tell me the last book you read that you loved and I’d be happy to give you a couple suggestions.

@Kelly Diels, that is a HUGE list for someone whose budget dictates 3 more books.

Have you read something on her list that you'd like to recommend?

Thanks for the link, too. I like her. I'll keep reading her. :-)

The universe is flipping amazing!

I was about to send a message to my favourite people and ask for book recommendations. Seems like our spending freeze can be relaxed a little and I want to get several books. Top of list is Gretchen Rubin's Happiness Project, and, beyond that, the possibilities our endless. (unlike my budget. I think I can buy about 5 books)

So, before I had a chance to ask my question out loud, my inbox gets the message from Josh, whose blog writing has me completely captivated, saying that his book (did you say book? You wrote a book? Awesome!!) is published!

Well, my goodness. I can't imagine a better answer. Especially since it was to the unasked question! And I sure hope my signed copy gets here soon, I'm hankering for a good free-range read!!

So, does anyone else want to recommend another book? I've got 3 spots to fill and I'm raring to go!!!

oh, and of turtles, I know nothing. I'd probably give in and get her one, but only if I couldn't have a dog.

and, my goodness, those must have been some very pretty fish to have names like that!
