Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you're using? I'm looking to start my own blog soon but I'm having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

I agree with you - I mean, when I enter questions into Google I expect a short, succinct answer. But when I want to be persuaded, or learn something or research something (which is more actually more often then not) I tend to find those sites that are more bewitching before I'll browse them (boring sites or over monetised sites make me run away). As an example, I just started up a new blog at http://www.sasspirations.com which I hope is a better answer to people's research and learning questions in the jewellery world ; )

I just found this site and this post tonight. I'm a newly obsessed blogger and blog explorer. Reading blogs just long enough to hear all the same advice twice, but not long enough to find my tribe. I loved this post because it began to articulate my sneaking suspicion about the word on the blogger street--that it is not the only way. And then I loved the comments. So often comments are just fan male (he he, didn't mean to make that typo but it seems relevant). I read every comment because it felt like a substantial conversation was taking place. I mean, a substantial conversation IS taking place.

I've become paralyzed by all the rules I'm learning, tips I'm getting, bullet pointed advice being delivered to my inbox. I rewrite all the pages on my site every other day and try to discover new things to BOLD besides the headlines.

Just to add to the conversation that although I don't think it should be ALL about making money. I grew up with the notion that girls shouldn't sell themselves...That shameless self promotion is in fact shameful. That we should just be ourselves, quietly, and if anyone notices, well isn't that lucky. I only want to live to learn, explore, share, make art and meaning and love. But since I have to eat, and because I have things to say that I really think will add value to this world, whether I use bullet points or not I'm determined to become a shameless self promoter in the hopes of making money and meaning and LOVE.

Thanks again, so much for this post and community.

Thanks, Kelly,
I couldn't agree more. There seem to be precious few female "A-List" bloggers, and the men all seem to emphasize how to make millions. While I want to make a living online, that doesn't mean I want to make a killing. I think I'll aim for the D List.

I also maintain several blogs to earn money online. sometimes it is hard to keep your daily earnings to stable levels..''"

It is true that there are more balls in blogging than say other bits, and I'm not sure why balls are somehow authoritative. I would be happy to read more female pro-bloggers as they would likely have a different perspective and intuition on the matter. Most of the "advice" out there is fairly banal regurgitated stuff. I like your blog though. Keep up the great work!
