I&#039;ve been painting self portraits because my words a la Stuart Smiley (I&#039;m strong enough, I&#039;m good enough and doggone it people like me!) aren&#039;t always working for me.  For me, it helps to create a beautiful image.  I can&#039;t look at this at not think: beauty. divine. me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is an innoculation of sorts.

Just curious if you are also an artist of canvas, as well as an artist of words.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Regarding body image, I am also very sensitive. Having major surgery has left my body scarred, although the surgeon did an excellent job.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It&#039;s really hard to appreciate one&#039;s body -- especially for a female. Blame it all on the media and Hollywood socialites who starve themselves into a stick figure.
